“I challenge you to a game for my soul,” said the trembling man. “Very well,” said Death. The man’s quivering mouth twisted into a smirk. “You didn’t say which game, so I get to choose.” He produced a deck from his pocket. “Magic: The Gathering!” “Very well,” Death repeated. “But you didn’t say which format, so I get to choose.” It produced a custom-crafted card case from its robes. “Legacy. Banned and restricted cards are fair game. No mulligans. if you get mana-screwed, that’s on you, noob.” The man swallowed nervously as Death began counting its Black Lotuses.
